The answer is.... YES! Due to the snow days, we lost time for in-class REVISION and EDITING on our current writing project, THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR. Students may earn Extra Credit that will be applied to their Language Arts grade by completing the following steps: 1) Use 'Other Color Pen' to revise and edit directly on your LETTER FORMAT WORKSHEET 2) Complete the REVISION WORKSHEET (click on link to download) 3) Complete the EDITING WORKSHEET (click on link to download) Credit for this work will depend on the effort and accomplishment of these activities. I look forward to seeing the FINAL DRAFTS due TUESDAY, JANUARY 21! Should we believe in Santa Claus? See you all for our 12th Night celebrations and the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6! The 6th grade class is studying the covenants of the Old Testament. Back then, paper was scarce and agreements and promises were spoken and sealed with gestures. We put this into practice this week by creating a class oath and gesture to seal our promise to work diligently both in and out of class. From the story of Noah, we also learned that God used a symbol to seal his promise to never flood the world again. The rainbow is a constant reminder of God's love for us. 6th graders chose symbols and posted them on our oath to help them remember these promises that will be kept in our classroom throughout the year. Great work, 6th graders! Your student has created a wonderful narrative essay through seed writing and 'making it better' these past three weeks! I look forward to reading these and seeing the results of 'Said is Dead,' 'Move It!,' and all the other mini-lessons that have influenced the writing for this genre! Typing requirements for Narrative Essay Rough Draft- DUE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30!!!!!!! • Typed (if emailed for printing, MUST be in .doc Word format!) • 12 point font • TImes New Roman font • DOUBLE SPACED! • 1" margins with paragraphs indented Be sure, if there is difficulty having the draft printed at home, that the draft is emailed by 9pm on Sunday night.
